About

Ireland’s smallest coffee roaster, at the marina

The Little Coffee Co — TLC² — is Joe Murray’s speciality coffee hatch at Banagher Marina. He’s been here since May 2019, serving locals, boaters, and anyone passing through town.

They roast small-batch on site, pour to SCA standards, and have taken part in national and international coffee competitions since opening. The board outside says organic and Fairtrade coffee.

It’s a takeaway hatch on the Shannon, laid-back and a bit of a local landmark. They also do corporate events, weddings, and festivals.

What’s on

Small-batch coffee

Joe roasts his own beans. The hatch board has Americanos, flat whites, lattes, cappuccinos, and a Nutella mocha — plus tea and organic herbal tea. Reviewers keep coming back for a proper cup at the weekend.

Scones & squares

Handmade scones, doughnuts, Broderick’s rocky road, caramel squares, and a white choc peanut slice. Midlands Ireland notes they stock other local bits too — sourdough, snack bars, and cheese. Dog biscuits are free.

Hot chocolates — including Nutella — babyccinos for the kids, and soft-serve ice cream. The big 99 out front is hard to miss after a walk along the marina.

The best in the biz! Can’t go a weekend without getting the perfect cup of coffee from Joe. He gets it right every time and it’s no surprise as his attention to detail & passion for coffee is so apparent. A true treasure for Banagher.

The best spot for quality coffee in the area. A group of us were up for the Easter weekend. We made sure to drop by every day for a fix. Nice Flat Whites and hot chocolates. Kids also loved the babyccinos.

Fantastic coffee, sound man! Roasting the competition and his own beans. Will have to come back.
